French premium cosmetics brand L’Occitane is opening its first spa in India in next month.

The treatments offered at the 20,000 sq. ft. spa in Udaipur, Rajasthan will be a fusion of Indian and Mediterranean, mixing fresh plants and flowers which are picked in the gardens of the hotel. The massages, wraps and scrubs are coupled with yoga and meditation.

Founded in 1976, L'Occitane is an international manufacturer and retailer of skincare, body care, fragrance and hair care. L’Occitane has a presence in India since 2006 through a distribution agreement. The cosmetics giant wants to position itself as an affordable luxury brand in India but does not believe in slashing prices to gain customers. The company is trying to maintain its exclusive identity by launching the same products in India as in the European markets.

L’Occitane is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and its production facilities and headquarters are located in Provence in the South of France. While the brand has a large number of retail locations, it is yet to develop its spa business. It already operates three spas, one in Paris, one in Hong Kong and one in South of France.
