The two high profile menswear brands, Louis Philippe
and Van Heusen, from the Aditya Birla Group of companies have clocked in sales worth Rs 650 crores each in 2010-11. Now they have set a sales target of Rs 850 crores for the current fiscal. About 40 to 45 exclusive outlets would be added every year mainly focusing on Tier II cities, apart from expanding sales through multibrand outlets and department stores. Van Heusen currently has 120 exclusive outlets and Louis Philippe has more than 100 show rooms across the country. Moreover the two brands would be adding more products like watches and wallets to provide a complete range of products for men.A year ago, Louis Philippe had added footwear and within 12 months the new segment contributed sales worth Rs 10 crores. Van Heusen’s new addition is V dot, a specialized club wear category aimed at younger customers. Louis Philippe was launched in India in 1989 and its entire range of formals, semi-formals, knits, custom-made apparel and accessories is inspired by the latest European fashion trends. Van Heusen is focused on the conventional nine-to-five formal wear and makes available a 24/7 self-expression range of garments like shirts, suits, trousers, ties, inner wear and women’s wear to its target audience.
