Planet Fashion Grande, a new multi-brand store

by Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, an Aditya Birla Group unit was unveiled recently in Bangalore. The company plans to set up 15 such outlets in the next year especially in smaller cities. The newly launched store covers an area of 12,000 to 25,000 sq. ft. offering a huge choice of garments and accessories from around 35 home-grown and international brands. Going forward, the company has identified 40 locations across India for future launch of the format.

The average per sq. ft. investment of Rs 2,500 would be made by the company for spreading the store network across the country. Madura already operates 145 ‘Planet Fashion’ stores across 97 cities in the country. But the existing stores are much smaller in size, compared to the new format and cater to men’s segment housing in-house labels. Planet Fashion has a retail turnover of Rs 240 crores and last year it registered a 25 per cent growth. Apart from launching the Planet Fashion Grande stores, the company also plans to focus on expanding the Planet Fashion stores as well.
