Makers, Raymond’s unique fabric brand in the economy

category, is celebrating its first year of successful operations. And to mark it Makers has announced the launch of India’s first insurance scheme for retailers. This Group Personal Accident Policy is a benefit to the retailers of Makers across India. Ram Bhatnagar, Vice President-Emerging Businesses, Raymond explains, “Raymond has the distinction of pioneering retail trends in the Indian textile and apparel industry. We have raised the bar of modern day retailing every now and then. Makers was one such textile and retail innovation from the house of Raymond, launched in May 2011, primarily in the Eastern markets.”

After spreading its business in the northern and southern markets, the response it received across markets has been tremendous. The brand is geared to expand its presence across India this year. “To celebrate this performance, we are pleased to present India’s first insurance scheme for our retailers, in recognition of their contribution in this journey. We recognize that Makers retailers have been the key interface for the brand with the consumers and supported immensely to grow the brand. The insurance scheme is our way of appreciating their efforts,” Bhatnagar adds.

Last year, Raymond had forayed into of retailing poly viscose fabrics with the launch of Makers. One of the many highlights of this brand is the fashion and style guides provided along with the fabric in an effort to bring fashion to everyday dressing. This feature of the brand and quality assurance from Raymond has resulted in Makers receiving an overwhelming response in Eastern markets. It was then launched in the northern market of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh during March 2012.
