Manasi Sengupta unveils 'Shakti' collection

Fashion designer Manasi Sengupta has unveiled her

latest collection of saris, salwars and kurtas based on the theme, 'Shakti' to mark the Durga Puja festival.

The collection is inspired by film director Reshmi Mitra's movie 'Mukti' whose team was present at the launch to showcase the range. Sengupta was decked in a red and beige sari while actor Rajdeep Gupta and lyricist Gautam wore 'Komon' the men's collection by Sengupta. Using the natural fibres and block printing technique, the line of designs stand out in the crowd. The ranges start from Rs 1,650 for women and Rs1,850 for the men's collection.

She has extensively used fabrics like Dhakai, Muga, Tussar, Chanderi, Muslin, Andhra cotton and so on to create the exclusive pieces. The theme of Shakti has been symbolised aptly by the use of red and white primarily. Post launching the Shakti range, the designer plans to begin work on wedding collection and lehengas.
