Catwalk, the leading women’s premium footwear brand has just launched its first stand-alone

outlet in Mangalore. The Mangalore exclusive store with a size of 550 sq. ft. presents a lot of potential for a shoe giant like Catwalk in South India where in general the ladies footwear category business is unorganized in nature. A privately owned company, Catwalk Worldwide is involved in the design, development, production and customization of footwear for women. The company conducts its operations under the direct business model and retails its products under the Catwalk label. The first Catwalk store was set-up in Mumbai at Kemps Corner and has gone on to build a brand image of glamour and a contemporary touch for modern women, currently having 19 standalone outlets and 123 shop-in-shop formats.

As part of its expansion plans, Catwalk Worldwide aims to achieve Rs 5 billion turnover by financial year 2014-15 with revenue growth at approximately 88 per cent cumulative growth. It plans to set up an additional 190 standalone stores covering an area of 114,000 sq. ft. by the end of 2014-15 fiscal this will take up their total retail area to over 125,000 sq. ft. with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 550 million. Catwalk is looking at metros, satellite cities, Tier I and II towns as well as international destinations for its expansion plans. Specialising in boutique stores, the company also operates in the shop-in-shops format.
