Meera Mahadevia at Vendome Luxury show

Accessory designer Meera Mahadevia will exhibit her chunky

and royal line of handbags at the 14th edition of the Vendome Luxury Exhibition in Paris. She has created a special collection for Vendome called Urban Tapestry. Vendôme Luxury aims at bringing together the fashion world’s key players. It’s a trade show dedicated to apparel and clothing. And this is the first time Vendome is featuring an Indian accessories brand.

Her collections of bags, belts and jewelry are always chic, and she uses the finest Indian embroideries, handcrafted metal work and exquisite stones and fabrics. For instance a khadi print bag and belt from the Meera Mahadevia collection is heavily embellished with bead work and topped off with bold semi-precious stones to draw attention to the accessories.

Her journey began 25 years ago. She took to designing aesthetic ethnic handbags when she saw women in rich traditional saris but with western purses. She designs pieces of art that look like they belong with a bridal outfit.
