Mom & Me eyes robust retail expansion

Mom & Me, part of Mahindra Retail has launched 75 stores in the last four years, across India. The brand

offers a wide range of products for expecting mothers, infants and young children like maternity fashion, infant apparel and tradition toys. It plans to continue expanding the presence of Mom & Me and Beanstalk over the next few years. The focus would be on exploring other specialty retail formats apart from growing its e-commerce, franchising and distribution business.

The company has over 110 stores of Mom & Me and 30 stores of Beanstalk as of now. While the maternity wear segment is at a nascent stage in India, the company believes that the category needs to be introduced aggressively since there is a demand driven by rising disposable incomes and lower birth rate in urban areas.

The company has an exclusive partnership with many international brands like Destination Maternity, Disney, Mattel, Graco, NUK and Summer Infants among others. But it offers its own private labels like Lil Wanderers, Baby Pure and Playnation wherever they see a demand and necessity of offering them. In house brands contribute almost half of its business.
