After successfully making in-roads as a women’s wear designer label through am:pm flagship

stores in New Delhi and Jaipur, Ankur and Priyanka Modi in association with Harpers Bazaar have now launched am:pm in Mumbai. The launch get-together witnessed fashion faces like Chhaya Momaya, Divya Thakur, Nisha Jamvwal, Simone Singh, Haseena Jethmalani, Varuna D Jani, Poonam Soni, Nachiket Barve, Vikram Raizada, Aditya Singh Rajput, Aki Narula and Neelam Kothari.

The designer duo feel that there’s a huge market for their designs in India. And with Tier-II, III cities opening up, there’s a vast opportunity for them. Am:pm was started by Ankur Modi and Priyanka Modi to create fashion by complementing each other’s skills and areas of expertise. Their fabrics are elegantly tailored using pure and woven materials. They also use handicraft (old methods of printing and embroidery stitches), to make their garments contemporary and understated. The new store in Mumbai will stock designers’ autumn/winter 2011 collection, which comprises quilted jackets, embroidered tunics and printed and pleated dresses.
