Leading designer boutiques in Mumbai are now offering

a specialized bridal consultation service to their clients to simplify the buying process for weddings. None of these stores charge extra for the consultation and provide their service through appointments only. In-house designers help pick out the most suitable bridal ensemble from leading designers by showing clients sketches and swatches of fabrics and patterns. The final ensemble depends on many factors, such as budget, preferences of color scheme, style and cuts. This service extends to the family and friends of the bride who may want customized ensembles too.

Some of the leading boutiques in Mumbai offering this bridal service for their well-heeled clients are Re at Breach Candy, Zoya Store at Bandra, Jona at Juhu, Sattva Boutique at  Khar and Ensemble at Lion Gate and Kemps corner among others. Re is the latest to join the bandwagon, the multi-designer store by Falguni Shah has a team of in-house designers who show brides sketches, swatches of various fabrics, patterns and colors to choose from.

Many kinds of different service are offered by boutique owners to help their clients pick the perfect outfit. Azmina Rahimtoola, owner of Zoya, says she even goes shopping with the bride when needed. Others like Jyotsna Tiwari, the owner of Jona that was launched earlier this month, regularly sits down with customers to help them decide on the outfit. However, an applicable fee is charged at Jona if the customers do not ultimately buy from the store. Sattva, which stocks lehengas from Rohit Verma’s couture line Hare, facilitates a client meeting with the designer himself.

Boutiques such as Ensemble, which stocks designs by many designers like Anamika Khanna, Varun Bahl and Manish Arora understands customer preferences and then arranges for a meeting with the designers of their choice who helps them decide on the final selection.
