The institute, located at Salt Lake City, Kolkata, will offer three and six month courses in visual merchandising, styling, jewellery designing, textile art, fashion journalism, pattern making, fashion illustrations and design development, fashion photography, textile dyeing and printing, garment manufacturing and kids wear. It will also offer a one-year diploma and two-year advance diploma courses in fashion design, textile design, garment manufacturing, fashion and media science and costume designing for films and theatres. Once NSF establishes itself, in the near future it plans to offer B-Tech in Fashion. The first session will start from mid-June.

NSF would invite professors from NID, NIFT and other renowned fashion institutes as well as professionals like veteran fashion designers Sharbari Datta, Chhuti Adhikary, Swarup Dutta among others to guide students training under different course modules.
