O Layla opened its doors at New Delhi’s Mehar Chand
Market in Lodhi Colony. The new store offers a wide variety of edgy range of fashion, accessories and lifestyle products for both men and women. Painted by traditional pattachitra artists from Odisha, the mango-yellow walls of the new store are adorned with intricate mythological designs that reinforce the brand’s commitment towards re-inventing traditional arts.With a distinctive design concept, the new store is more spacious and offers some of the most fashionable merchandise. It is currently showcasing its Spring/Summer 2013 collection which is a curated mix of stylish products that range from chic summer cotton dresses, tie-dye tunics, t-shirts, maxis, crochet jewellery to stunning divided skirts with exquisite village embroidery.
O Layla’s signature line is re-invented glamorous version of ethically sourced village handcrafts and recycled waste materials. It is a conscious approach to fashion and design. The stores also showcase emerging designers and labels who share its vision of re-creating the concept of ‘desi cool’ through their various products. It is owned by Ritu Kumar who had previously created the popular fusion label Moksh. A self-confessed fashion nomad - she is also the designer for the in house label O Layla.
