Leisure store chain Odyssey has rebranded ‘The Eyewear Store’ as ‘Style i’ and plans to open

the first Style i at Mantri Square Mall, Bangalore. The Eyewear Store is currently present in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai. The original concept of the store was standalone optical stores. While the new concept has three formats – standalone optical stores with both prescription and sunglasses, stores in malls with only sunglasses, and shop-in-shops at Odyssey outlets with only sunglasses.

The company has invested `75 lakhs in Store i at Mantri Square Mall, which has an area of 900 sq. ft. Odyssey has also opened its sixth ‘Editions’ store in India, at Express Avenue mall in Chennai, spread over an area of 1,302 sq. ft. Editions is a luxury pen store, offering international and well-known pens. It is reportedly the largest multi-brand pen store in the country. The pens are priced as low as `700 in the basic collections and go up to a few lakhs for luxury and limited edition pens. The store also offers leather accessories such as wallets and cuff links from well known brands.

In the summer of 1995, Odyssey opened its flagship store in the southern suburbs of Chennai. Today, the company operates through 58 stores in 13 cities with about 2.60 lakhs sq. ft. of retail space under its operations. Odyssey forayed into the optical eyewear category with the launch of The Eyewear Store, a hi-fashion destination for international designer sunglasses and prescription frames.
