Knitwears and Manufacturers’ Association of Ludhiana (Kamal) held its annual buyer

-seller meet for winter bookings from May 17 to 21. Nearly 80 exhibitors from Ludhiana came together to showcase their latest offerings. Nearly 2,000 buyers from across India visited the five day fair. Most participants pointed out that they expect prices of woolen garments to go up by 10 to 15 percent this year, due to an increase in cost of power, raw materials and labor.

This year, bold colors are in replacing pastels which were in trend last season. Blends are in trend. Considering the reduced duration of winter, not more than 20 percent wool is being added in garments. The last hosiery season was below average but this time the dealers’ response was good and buyer’s sentiment in general was more positive.

Kamal is an association formed by some of the leading names in knitwear and apparel manufacturing in Ludhiana. The main focus, is to pool in efforts and resources and give a united and collective direction to the industry.
