Page Industries clocks in growth with women’s lingerie line

Page Industries, the franchisee of Jockey International
is witnessing positive growth in its women’s innerwear line, launched in 2009. The company continued its robust performance even in the current fiscal. The women’s line contributes almost 25 percent to company’s topline.The demand for its women’s innerwear has helped Page increase product prices amid a slowdown, high inflation and subdued consumer buying. It registered 31 percent growth in net sales for the quarter ended September 2013 compared with the same quarter last year, against its competitors. For instance, while Maxwell Industries reported a 10 percent decline in sales during the quarter, Lovable Lingerie could register a marginal revenue growth of 5 percent.
Since January to November the company’s stock had gained over 40 percent while the benchmark Sensex has just risen by 4 percent. In the previous fiscal ended March 2013, Page Industries, which also owns franchise of swimwear brand Speedo, outperformed peers like KPR Mills, Gokaldas Exports, Sudar Industries in terms of Profit after Taxes (PAT) by wide margin. Page Industries’ FY’13 PAT stood at Rs 112.53 crores as against Rs 100 crores for KPR Mills and Rs 25.56 crore for Sudar Industries.
