Page to market Speedo in India

Page Industries, an innerwear maker, has signed up an exclusive license to manufacture,

market and distribute Speedo products in India. Speedo is an Australian swimwear brand owned by the Pentland Group. It is known for its wide range of performance swimming products that are endorsed by the world’s best swimmers. These include swimming goggles, swim vests, swimsuits, swimming caps, earplugs and swim seats. In 1994 Speedo launched Endurance, the world's first chlorine resistant fabric. Speedo swimwear is available in many fabrics like cotton lycra, lycra, micro fiber, nylon spandex, and tricot.

From January 2012, Page will introduce a range of Speedo products including swimwear, water shorts, apparel, equipment and footwear. Page Industries is engaged in the manufacture, distribution and marketing of innerwear and leisurewear for men and women. The company is the exclusive licensee of Jockey International (US) in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the UAE. Page started its India operations in 1995 and from there it has got sales CAGR of about 35 per cent for the last 15 or 16 years. It’s in the Rs 100 to Rs 200 category of the underwear segment. Page industries has already revolutionized the way innerwear has been manufactured, marketed and distributed in India. So Speedo is confident that this partnership will be instrumental in ensuring they become the market leaders.
