Famous Pakistani brand Khaadi, known for its hand woven
fabrics range is planning to enter the Indian market. The brand is a complete one-stop solution for home textiles, as well as women’s and men’s garments and fabrics, including khaadi, conventional lawn, ready to wear prêt wear and men’s salwar kameez.During the recently concluded Lifestyle Pakistan exhibition, which was organised to better trade relations between India and Pakistan, many Pakistani fashion and apparel brands expressed their interest in setting shop in India. Growing interest of Indian consumers for Pakistani embroideries and designs has raised hopes of these manufacturers and now they are pinning their eyes on the trade pact expected to be announced in December, which could open opportunities for brands from both the countries.
According to Danish A Adamjee, COO of Khaadi, India is emerging as a strong retail market and it will be an easy market to capture, as the Indian and Pakistani tastes of clothing are quite similar. These brands are looking at entering India since the government has already approved 100 per cent FDI in single brand retail, which lets international brands enter the country on their own.
Khaadi plans to bring its complete range including its specialised hand woven, stitched and embroidered khadi products, which is called Khaadi Khaas.
