The Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) is bringing some
of the most renowned designer labels from the country to India through PFDC - The Boulevard, a design store launched in New Delhi . As many as 18 Pakistani designers such as Karma, Libas, Kamiar Rokni, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY), Elan Design House, Sana Safinaz, Asifa Nabeel, Sonia Azhar, Fahad Hussayn, Nickie Nina, Iman Ahmed (Body Focus Museum), etc, are in India for PFDC - The Boulevard.Sehyr Saigol, Chairperson of PFDC and Mini Bindra are the brain behind bringing the PFDC body to India. PFDC established in 2006 endeavours to accord a corporate status to the fashion business; provide a platform for young and mainstream designers; and institutionalize the fashion industry to create and maintain industry standards in conformity with global market standards. Today, the PFDC includes over 66 members from across the country. The Council also offers two annual scholarships to aspiring PIFD students. Lastly, the PFDC continues to strive towards the standardization of the Prêt-à-Porter industry.
