of Pure Elegance made an influence over the fashion audience present at Washington DC Fashion Week held at the French Embassy. The DC Fashion Week finale has been the not-to-be-missed International Couture Show, featuring more than 100 models flaunting designs created by talented designers from around the globe. Continuing its tradition, this year’s show featured brilliant designers including Parna Ghose. She created a fusion of Indian traditional wear with casual, contemporary evening wear. The fabrics used were silks, georgettes, chiffons, and nets embellished with ethnic craftwork and cutwork of velvet, embroidery, antique work and metal work.Ghose is also the founder of Pure Elegance, a fashion brand created in the US for South Asian women worldwide. It is the first of its kind in the US to combine both high-end Indian fusion fashion and accessories, with exquisite clothing and jewellery under one roof. Pure Elegance captures the essence of India and blends it with the best that the contemporary West has to offer. Since its inception, about three years ago, Pure Elegance enjoys a strong following worldwide. It now has over 25,000 fans on its Facebook page and is one of the fastest growing South-Asian fashion brands in the US.
With its success at the DC Fashion Week, Pure Elegance is eyeing the lucrative and fast-growing Indian bridal wear market that is over $ 4 billion in size globally. Pure Elegance has been invited to the prestigious Dubai Fashion Week and hopes to further its footprint worldwide.
