Phadnis to debut at Dubai bridal show

Vikram Phadnis has signed up to take part in The Bride Show

Dubai for the first time in his designing career. He will showcase his latest designs to Dubai’s followers of fashion. The four-day event begins on April 7. The Bride Show Dubai offers UAE women a wide range of fashion shows, where professional models showcase the latest haute couture evening wear, bridal gowns, abayas and sheilas. This is an opportunity for Dubai’s fashionistas to be personally styled by one of India’s most influential fashion designers. Vikram Phadnis has designed dresses for some of the biggest names in Bollywood including Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan and Sushmita Sen. The collection he will be showing at Dubai is ultra-modern, with defined silhouettes in warm colors to suit the UAE market.

 

Meanwhile, Phadnis unveiled his collection for spring/summer at a polo tournament at the Amateurs Rider’s Club in Mumbai. In the first round, he unveiled saris in pastels and ice-creamy shades of baby pinks, lemon yellows. The second round was a cocktail line consisting of funky saris, short dresses and printed gowns dipped in rich hues of silver and white with colorful embroidery. The third round was the fusion line, which comprised maroons, blacks and darker tones. The finale was of evening gowns in bright, kitschy colors. Phadnis has won countless awards including the Best Designer IIFA Award and the Young Achievers Award by the government of Maharashtra.
