Pochampall​y 'Ikat Mela' 2013 kicks off

‘Pochampally IKAT Mela 2013’ at Minerva (Bibesia) Banqeet, Amrutha Mall, Somajiguda was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Government Handicrafts & Textile Commissioner, Chiranjivul. Works consisting of apparels, handcrafted designer saris, dress materials, handbags and other products of renowned textile designers and world famous weavers of Pochampally. The exhibition will be on till February 11, 2013.

“We can see the blend of different styles and concepts of handloom creations coming together under one roof and weavers exhibiting their creations of different genres of handloom products in vibrant colours and textures in wide variety and styles,” Chiranjivul said.

“I am glad to see various apparels, particularly designer fabrics, silk and cotton saris showcased for the fashion connoisseurs. Platforms such as this are required to reach out to women looking for well-designed handmade cotton, silk wear and exclusive home textile,” he added.
