The CBME India 2014 fair held recently at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai,

showcased an array of kids’ collections. The fair saw over 100 exhibitors, happy with the response from the buyer community which visited over the three days of the show. Backed by the success of this show, UBM India is exploring new cities like Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata for holding the forthcoming editions of CBME India. The next edition of the fair is scheduled from April 11 to 13, 2015 in Mumbai.

“Exhibitors who partnered with us for the 1st and 2nd edition of CBME India have seen the value which we, through this platform, have provided them and are happy with the quality of buyers who visited their booth, especially the exhibitors from Italy who expressed their appreciation,” says Kranti Nagvekar, Group Director, UBM India, host organisers of the event.

In addition to Kolkata and Tirupur, the exhibition had manufacturers from southern states, displaying their innovative product ranges. However, the manufacturers of kids’ toys and baby care products were more than the players from the kids’ apparel category, Nagvekar points out that those who participated last year have come this year too, with bigger business goals in addition to new players in the garments category. “We are looking at raising the benchmarks for coming editions based on feedback and exhibitor response,” she opined.

Nagvekar says that apart from the premium players, the focus this time was also on lesser known brands. “Many exhibitors were participating for the first time. There were brands who want to expand into the domestic market through this fair. There were also brands catering to the masses and their numbers will gradually increase as CMBE India grows into a larger platform,” she adds.
