In an innovative move to raise funds in Geneva, Heart for India Foundation in association with
Hotel Mandarin Oriental Geneva organized the ‘Pria Kataaria Puri Indian Fashion Week for Heart For India’. Each day of the event was held at a different exclusive restaurant within the hotel’s premises – Le Sud, The Rasoi and Mo Bar. The fashion event was attended by the who’s who of Geneva, guests included celebrities and royalty. Guests bought tables at the restaurants for the shows and the proceeds, along with silent charity pledge cards, raised money for the foundation’s ongoing projects in Chennai. A few selected, exquisite and top-end pieces from the displayed collection were auctioned at the event to raise funds for the charity.Talented Mumbai-based designer Pria Kataaria Puri, acknowledged for her classic and stunning designs was the personal choice of Princess Francoise Sturdza, the president of the foundation. Puri displayed three collections at the event – Arabian Nights, La Royal Rajputana and Jeans & Glamour. The piece de resistance of the show was the set of digital prints of the late Maharani Gayatri Devi’s jewelry collection. Puri’s designs were contemporary and yet true to their Indian origin, be it the concept, print, weave or silhouette.
