Pritam Panda bags global fashion award

Internationally acclaimed fashion designer Pritam

Panda bagged the 12th Murex Global Fashion Award at a ceremony in Italy recently. He is the first Indian designer to have received this award. Panda was nominated in two categories of the awards: ‘“Youth Ispirazione-2012-13’ and ‘Best Woman's wear-Foreign Designer label’. He received it for ‘Youth Ispirazione-2012-13’ award leaving behind nominees from China, Italy and Dubai. The award is in its 12th year and is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of fashion and retail.

From establishing a fashion institute; setting up a platform for Gen Next in Orissa; sharing shelf space at high-end luxury stores across the globe; dressing up world’s most stunning ladies; receiving honours for his efforts at promoting remote Indian arts and crafts; to bagging membership of the prestigious GAFC & Fashion Council for expertise in his field, Panda has come a long way.

His label caters to select high-end stores in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, London, Manchester, Bradford, Phuket, Bangkok, Malaysia, France, Dubai & Dhaka. Lately, he has also been promoting Orissa hand-woven silk fabric with his signature surface ornamentations through sampling for fashion houses overseas.
