Provogue Q2 net profit up 1.17 per cent

Apparel firm Provogue has reported 1.17 percent

increase in its net profit at Rs 6.03 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 5.96 crore in the same period a year ago. Provogue's net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 153.24 crores, up 5.05 percent as against Rs 145.86 crores in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Overall expenses during the quarter stood at Rs 145.65 crores, an increase of 6.95 percent as against Rs 136.18 crores in the same quarter last year. During the half yearly period ended September 30, the company reported net profit of Rs 10.58 crores as compared to Rs 9.03 crore in the same period last year.

Brand Provogue was launched in 1998 as a men’s wear fashion range offering contemporary clothing. Over the years, the brand has evolved into a comprehensive collection for men and women’s fashion apparels and accessories. As of 2013, Provogue’s collections are available through over 350 doors in more than 80 cities across India.
