Designer duo Puja and Karan wanted to fill the gap in kids wear market in the country and hence

launched Purple Elephant, a kidswear line for both boys and girls. Puja feels both of them are better equipped to handle kidswear. Hence, they created the label Purple Elephant, aimed at boys and girls between six months to 14 years. The prices start at Rs 400 and goes up to Rs 1400. The fabric used is weather and environment-friendly. All the garments are made of 100 per cent cotton and everything is sourced within the country. They feel that purple is a healing color and children love elephants, hence the name.

Also, they want to steer clear of patterns that are already available like floral prints, laces, buckles, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The aim is to offer something more on the lines of what adults wear. Garish detailing and outlandish color assortments and frills and flounces have been replaced by clothing that a child would take to instantly that is totally safe and comfortable to wear. Having been around for more than a decade in the business of manufacturing and exporting clothes, the designer team has understood that it’s time to dress up children in what they want to wear and not necessarily what is available off the shelf. And with Purple Elephant they are trying to do just that.
