Spurred by its recent successes in India, the Rado Watch Company, a part of the reputed Swiss Swatch
Group, has launched its first flagship The Golden Time store in Ahmedabad. The brand is now expanding its marketing network across the country with the launch of flagship stores in major cities. In fact the brand now wants to make India a priority market. As Peter Kaser, VP-Sales, Rado Watch opines that India is a prosperous country, especially with the premier segment watches. And after watching this market for the last four years, they are going to make it a ‘priority market’. Kaser, said that Rado Watch is going to have 50 such stores in the next three to five years.Right now, the company is getting its expansion plans in place to penetrate the entire country. Kaser says they are a bit choosy about the location and the partner, and are in the search process of finding potential strategic partners with whom they ink out exclusive arrangements. “We plan to add 10 more retail stores for Rado in addition to existing 70 stores in India," Kaser said. In the last four years, they have invested a substantial amount on the brand in the country. This year, they are also going to stress on advertising activities, specially a variety of indoor promotions which will be used as an essential tool for them to promote the brand in the country. Globally, Rado is targeting a 15 per cent rise in its sales during the current year ending December 31, 2011. It saw 11 per cent rise in sales during 2010.
