Rahul Mehta takes over as new President IAF

Rahul Mehta has been elected as the new IAF President for the coming two years. He was elected in the general assembly of the International

Apparel Federation, held in Medellin (Colombia) during the 30th IAF World Fashion Convention, He succeeds Harry van Dalfsen who has been in this position for past four years.

Rahul Mehta is President of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) representing this esteemed association in IAF since many years.

He is also Vice Chairman Institute of Apparel Management and he has been on the Board of Governors of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Managing Committee Member of the Apparel Export Promotion Council of India (AEPC), and Managing Committee of the Indian Merchants Chamber of Commerce (IMC).

Rahul Mehta is MD of the Creative Group, one of the leading companies in the Indian apparel industry, began his business career in 1982, he was the All India Sales Manager in Goodlass Nerolac Paints. He joined the Creative Group of companies in 1982 to oversee their domestic business.

In this general assembly, there were also other changes in IAF’s management. Claudio Marenzi, President of the Italian Apparel and Textile Association Systema Moda Italia (SMI) has been elected as new Vice-President of IAF. Han Bekke, IAF’s Secretary-General will step down in the end of this year after holding this position for last eight years. He has been elected as new member of the IAF board in which he will take the position as treasurer from Hasan Arat who stepped down as member of the board. Matthijs Crietee, who is currently Deputy Secretary-General, will be new Secretary-General of IAF from January 2015 onwards.
