Ravi Bajaj now at DLF Emporio

Designer Ravi Bajaj, who has spent 23 years in the fashion industry, opened his third store in

New Delhi’s upmarket DLF Emporio mall. Bajaj says that men’s wear is the fastest-growing segment in the world of fashion. He feels men are ready to experiment given their higher disposable incomes and media exposure. Bajaj has a menswear store in Greater Kailash, Delhi. He further explains that, “Men and women shop and look at stuff in different ways, and the pricing is also very different. Moreover, revenues are much higher in women’s wear therefore the 500 sq. ft. new store will have only saris, starting from Rs 35,000.” Nearly 85 to 90 per cent of Bajaj’s earnings come from saris.

His collection of saris is in five shades, easy to handle, lightweight and without heavy embellishments. Around 50 per cent of the saris he sells are black and white and clients swear by them since the garments are very light and easy to manage. They have elegant, subtle designs and the classy look and feel have endeared them to a host of buyers.

Ravi Bajaj’s store at DLF Emporio Mall has a look of understated luxury. The walls are light colored so that the attention is not diverted from the clothes. There are beveled mirrors, Italian leather clad display system, gold leaf furniture, Italian silk upholstery. The lighting has been especially imported. The designer also has ventured into the food and beverage industry and has a wine bar.
