Resort Fashion Week scheduled in Goa

Now another fashion week would get added to the list of fashion

weeks in India. The first India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW) 2011 will start from December 7 to 10 at the Grand Hyatt in Goa. With so many fashion events during the high season, how much response would another fashion week dedicated to resort fashion, which is at a very nascent stage in India, gather is a big question.

The four-day event will witness 22 designers including names synonymous with resort wear such as Shantanu and Nikhil, James Ferreira, Shivan and Narresh, Pria Kataria Puri and Anupamaa Dayal, displaying their collections. According to the designers, this is the right time to have a fashion week dedicated to resort wear since it is catching up fast in the Indian fashion industry and is already extremely segment abroad. The Resort wear collection does not include only swimwear but it’s like loungewear that’s luxurious and these designers of resort wear are keen to highlight the uniqueness of it.
