Rohit Bal to debut bridal line at IBFW

While the India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) makes a debut

in the capital, even ace designer Rohit Bal would unveil his line of bridal offerings on the ramp, for the first time during the event. Though the designer has presented his couture collection several times before, he had never showed a bridal line on the ramp.

He usually designs bridal wear on order and doesn’t create it for stores. He also never wanted to mix couture with bridal but since IBFW invited him to showcase his collection, he decided to create a special bridal collection for the fashion extraveganza.

Bal, who has spent over two decades in the fashion industry, is known for mixing traditional and modern themes and this is what he would showcase through his bridal range at the forthcoming event. The fashion week, so far held in Mumbai, will open its first Delhi edition on July 23. Scheduled to take place at The Grand Hotel, the show will witness a mix of bridal and couture collections by some of the established names in the fashion industry.

Participating designers at the six-day event include JJ Valaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Raghavendra Rathore, Shantanu and Nikhil, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Suneet Varma, Ashima Leena, Meera and Muzaffar Ali, Adarsh Gill, Jyotsana Tiwari and Rina Dhaka.
