Delhi is all set to witness a razzmatazz fashion

carnival next week as the the five-day ‘PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 kicks-off from August 8-12at The Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi. Organisers, Fashion Design Council of India (FDXI) announced the names of the high-profile designers, who would participate in the fashion extravaganza. While designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, best known for blending the ethnic with the modern day designs will pull the curtains down on the third edition of Delhi Couture Week next month. He will showcase a collection titled ‘New Moon’.

Commenting on his designs at the fashion gala, Mukherjee said in a statement, “I am privileged to be closing the Delhi Couture Week. Customarily, there is enormous pressure on most designers to go over the top during such occasions but I am going to keep my show very restrained and structured. The collection will be a blend of austere and architectural designs. It will be a very modern outlook on how India perceives Couture, with a strong emphasis on simplicity,” the designer says.

The couture week draws talent from the Indian fashion fraternity known for its exceptional creativity. The event will witness 11 leading couturiers of India showcasing their magical collections. Leading designers like Varun Bahl, JJ Valaya, Leena Tipnis, Anamika Khanna & Gaurav Gupta, Anju Modi, Manish Arora, Shantanu & Nikhil, Manav Gangwani and Sabyasachi Mukherjee would present their exclusive collections on the runway. A "By Invitation Only" event, PCJ Delhi Couture Week aims to serve as an effective platform to promote couture fashion within India and globally.
