Shoppers Stop, one of India’s oldest and leading fashion retailers has elevated Salil Nair to the position of Chief
Executive Officer (CEO), effective March 01, 2014. He was working as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. In his new role as CEO, Nair will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company’s strategies, store operations, technological innovation, and more.In a statement released by the company, Govind Shrikhande, Customer Care Associate & Managing Director, Shoppers Stop said, “I am proud and delighted to announce the promotion of Salil Nair to CEO of Shoppers Stop. In his last few years as COO, he has shown exceptional passion and has helped create a world-class shopping experience for our customers.”

His journey in the company started with store operations, and progressed into the buying and merchandising team. Subsequently, he became Chief Operating Officer and significantly contributed to its growth with keen focus on customer service, strong product assortment and systematic operating procedures. With over 25 years of experience in the retail sector, prior to joining Shoppers Stop, he has worked with leading brands such as Carona and Glaxo India.
