Samant Chauhan launches flagship in New Delhi

Designer Samant Chauhan launched his first ever store called

‘Studio D4’ New Delhi’s at Defence Colony. Though he wanted to unveil the first store in his home-town Patna, it got delayed and the designer went ahead with the Delhi store kick-starting a retail journey of his creations.

The store stocks his Chauhan’s Rajputana collection, which has leather, metal and silk accessories as the main component, and would be later followed by luxe home-furnishing and a handloom denim line.

While the designer wanted to open a store during the festive/winter and wedding seasons that rules the northern region of India, he could not do so due to other commitments. Chauhan, who hails from a village near Bhagalpur in Bihar also sees tremendous growth and demand in fashion and lifestyle in Tier-II, III cities, so he plans to open a store in Patna. His label, Samant Chauhan, is stocked in multi-designer stores across India and abroad.

Known for his luxury prêt collection, using traditional Bhagalpuri handwoven silk, Chauhan’s work has reached out to the global market. A NIFT alumni, he won four major awards at his graduating show. He also made a mark with his first show at the Singapore Fashion week with a collection for men and followed it with another collection named ‘Kamasutra’ at India Fashion Week.
