Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who had so far remained away from partnering with

online shopping platforms for a collection, has finally been signed on as the brand ambassador for fashion e-tailer Yepme. The deal also lets the actor pick up a stake in Yepme going forward.

Earlier in July, the Gurgaon-based company had roped in Bollywood actor Sonu Sood as their brand ambassador of sportswear collection. The company had launched a Sonu Sood sports collection in various designs and styles. Yepme's sportswear line ‘PlayCool’ includes the latest men's fashion such as crew neck tees, Polos, muscle tees, workout vests, tracksuits and sports shoes.

Established in 2011, Yepme offers merchandise for young men and women aged between 20 to 29 years. It services in over 1,000 cities monthly and delivers above 500,000 products to consumers every month. Yepme was acknowledged as one of the top start-ups to watch out for by Forbes. It has also been ranked as one of the top 20 fashion brands in the world. The brand was awarded ‘Web-only Brand of the Year’ title in 2014 by eTailin India.

After handing over its media duties to Havas Media through a multi-agency pitch, Yepme has launched a new web platform to woo NRI customers towards India-made fashion. While the global site currently displays Indian ethnic wear, the company soon plans to offer western fashion wear as well. Yepme reported revenues of Rs 140 crores in fiscal 2014 and is targeting to double it this fiscal year. The company is aiming to be profitable in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015.
