Shina N C at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival

The epitome of Mumbai, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival,

just got infused with a fashionable flavour. Designer Shaina N C will be there on February 6, 2012 to deconstruct the regular sari drape and transform it into something that’s absolutely magical. In a workshop titled ‘Demystifying the Drape’ she will shed light on the different ways of draping the nine-yard. Also present at the fest, will be Sathya Saran who will curate a multidimensional workshop on travel, fashion and film.

Talking about her association with the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2012, Shaina NC says, “Every year people have great expectations from the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. This year I’m doing a sari draping session at the festival. It is meant to appeal to all the sari wearers and also the not frequent sari wearers. I look forward to show them various types of drapes from across India. I believe a sari is not just a national costume but a style statement and an international costume.”

February 4th-12th will herald the vibrancy, drama, excitement and the beautiful colours of culture as the famous Kala Ghoda Arts Festival will kick off offering a kaleidoscope of music, dance, theatre, literature, street stalls, films, workshops for adults and children, visual arts and heritage walks.
