Shoppers Stop bags ‘Best Supply Chain’ award

Shoppers Stop has won ‘Best Supply Chain Company in Retail Vertical’ award in the 8th Express, Logistics

and Supply Chain Conclave conducted by ELSC (Express Logistics and Supply chain). This is the 3rd time the company has bagged this award from ELSC.

The company in its retail expansion drive has opened a ‘Crossword’ store in Hyderabad and one franchisee store at Triton Mall, Jaipur has been closed. With these, there are now 95 ‘Crossword’ stores.

Shoppers Stop has a national presence across 69 stores in 32 cities such as Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Agra, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Durgapur, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kalyan, Kolkata, Latur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Mysore, Noida, Pune, Raipur, Siliguri, Surat, Thane, Vijayawada and Vadodara.

Shoppers Stop is stepping up its retail presence by planning to add eight stores this fiscal year and six to eight more in FY16. India’s oldest retail chain reported a 46.60 percent decline in its standalone net profit at Rs 8.1 crores for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2014, due to higher expenses. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 15.17 crores in the corresponding quarter of 2012-13.
