Sonali taps Southeast Asian markets with fashion line

Direct-selling fashion company Sonali Products is

spreading its wings with its popular Bollywood-inspired fashion line beyond Malaysia and entering Thailand and Indonesia. At present, it is scouting for right local partners in these markets.

The plan is to finalise and venture in the new markets by 2015. Apart from the Malaysian market, the company already receives online orders for its Indian fashion wear from customers in Canada, Australia, the US and Thailand. One of the most popular products among Malaysians are the ladies tops that come in various sizes and designs.

Founded in 1994, Sonali has two manufacturing plants – one in Gombak, Selangor, and another in Mumbai, and sources its materials from India. The company owns five retail outlets in Malaysia at Ipoh, Johor, Prai, Sentul and Brickfields and has franchisees to operate another six outlets in Seremban, Klang, Sg Siput, Rawang, Taiping and Jelapang.

It also provides product catalogues to those, who wish to sell products to neighbours, relatives and friends. And if the response is positive then company helps the person do the business on a bigger scale.
