Sreeleathers plans 100 stores

Sreeleathers, a value-for-money shoe brand that owns the world’s largest single-brand

shoe store in Kolkata, plans to open 100 stores across the country over the next two years. Right now there are 35 stores nationwide. The brand which was opened by freedom fighter Suresh Chandra Dey in 1951 in Jamshedpur sells durable and affordable shoes to the common man. It owns the country’s largest shoe store in Kolkata, north India’s largest shoe store in Delhi and south India’s largest shoe store in Chennai and is now set to enter cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Its range of shoes starts from Rs 100 and the highest priced shoes cost just Rs799.

Sreeleathers has forged a JV with the Greek company Ginnes Costa for the sale of shoes and accessories under the Sreeleathers brand in Europe. Today, Sreeleathers is making a mark in countries like Germany, the UK, Greece and the Netherlands. Sreeleathers was founded in a small way in Jamshedpur. Today, it caters to public demand not only with a wide range of shoes but also with allied products and accessories. It has an annual total turnover of Rs 100 crores to Rs 250 crores.
