Sudar Garments Q2 net sales up 46%

Sudar Garments, a leading manufacturer and

exporter of readymade garments, specializing in shirts, trousers and a wide range of apparels have seen a rise of 46 per cent in its sales/income from operations. It touched Rs 3,736 lakh for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 as against Rs 2,557 lakh for the same period in September 2010. The total revenue during the first half rose by 36 per cent to Rs 6,727 lakh from Rs 4,925 lakh for the same period last year. The company’s profit before tax for the quarter was Rs 97 lakh and for the first half it reached Rs 292 lakh.

The good growth results comes on the heels of investments in innovation and customer-focused approach. Further, Sudar Garments also plans to launch 25 retail outlets in major cities of south India. Out of these, 10 will be company owned retail outlets on leased premises and the balance 15 retail will be operated on a franchisee basis under the brand names: Sundar Garments, Glory to Glory, St Paul and Majesty. The company's growth strategy include: penetration across different consumer segments and demographics with stores; enhancing manufacturing capacities; targeting growing segments.
