Suneet Varma opens first ready-to-wear store

Looking at the growing demand for ready-to-wear

wedding wear, designer Suneet Varma recently opened a boutique at New Delhi’s DLF Promenade. While creating designer wedding trousseau for one of his clients, he got this idea since many of his clients wanted to get hold of his saris at affordable rates. Varma decided to start off with saris since they are easy to produce and don’t have size issues. While with his couture line, price is decided in the end depending on the fabric used and embellishments, the sari is created after deciding upon the price points to keep them competitively priced.

With his new RTW store, the designer joins the growing tribe of couturiers from Manish Malhotra to Tarun Tahiliani who are looking at creating a retail empire with their affordable and wearable designer wear.
