Suneet Varma plans archive

29 Jul 2010

Ace designer Suneet Varma is planning to open India’s first fashion archive that will help

fashion students in India to look through how the country evolved and matured with time. The designer, who currently has archival material of 25 years of his own work, wants to also store other designers’ works. He will approach other designers to come forward and share their work, styles and signatures of the past for the fashion archive. Right now there is no real archive in India where students can get to see the works of designers down the ages.

One of India’s foremost couturiers, Suneet Varma is a name that immortalizes glamour and glitz. He combines a strong design sensibility with meticulous craftsmanship to create ethereal and sophisticated creations for today’s woman. His associations with some of the strongest international brands make him a designer whose forte goes beyond a uni-dimensional profile. Suneet Varma’s current tie-up as a designer with Judith Leiber, the international luxury accessories brand propels him into the global fashion and style circuit, with ‘Suneet Varma for Judith Leiber’ luxury accessories now being retailed across the world at the Judith Leiber boutiques.
