Outdoor sports fashion brands Quiksilver and Roxy, run by California-based Quiksilver Holdings,

have opened a store in Mumbai at High Street Phoenix. One is not sure if surfing has caught on among Mumbaikars in a big way but Quiksilver will do its bit to interest them in matters related to sea and surf. A 1,400 sq. ft. flagship store has also opened at Delhi’s Ambience Mall complete with waves splashed on the walls and a skateboarding ramp. The products are synonymous with the culture of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. There is a wide range of tunics, T-shirts, deconstructed cardigans, short jackets, micro skirts in geometric prints, stripes and checks in warm tones along with accessories like bags, belts, eyewear and watches.

Founded in Australia in 1970, Quiksilver is one of the largest manufacturers of surf wear and other board sport-related equipment with a presence in 90 countries. Roxy, launched in 1990, is a sport fashion brand for young women. In summer 2011, Quiksilver hosted a skate-a-thon at Carter Road, Bandra, to give Mumbai a dose of skateboarding and to announce its arrival in India.
