Timex eyes retail expansion in Kerala

Global watch company Timex will open exclusive stores in

Kottayam, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in the near future, said Angelique O'Brien, head of retail and fashion brands at Timex Group India. After launching the company's fourth showroom in Kochi at Lulu Mall, she said, “With this store, the number of stores touched 36 in south India and 116 in the country. Kerala has been good to us and we opened two stores last year in the state. As a company we are really expanding our retail base - we have doubled the number of stores in two and a half years from 55 to 116.”

Timex’s growth was mainly in metros and Tier-I cities, observed O'Brien. “Now Bangalore has 13 shops while Delhi has 10 shops,” she said. The maker of brands like Ecko, Nautica, Ferragamo and Helix would also be looking at Tier-II cities. “As a brand, we have many distribution points. Our products are available in multi-brand stores and there are more than 3,000 points-of-sales in the country,” she said.
