Turtle aims for Rs 95 cr this fiscal

Kolkata-based menswear brand, Turtle expects to post 45 per cent growth over last year.

The company, which has positioned itself as a mid-market player concentrating solely on men’s wear, is targeting revenues of Rs 95 crores for the year ending March 2011. Turtle currently has 46 standalone stores, 1,500 multibrand outlets and 100 large format stores across India. In 2011, the company expects to open 15 to 20 exclusive outlets all over India. Turtle is also aggressively expanding its presence in the Middle East. The company’s international operations contributed Rs 1.5 crores to overall revenue last year. This year, they expect the revenue from international operations to touch Rs 2.5 crores.



Turtle started in 1993 has evolved as a complete menswear brand offering shirts, T-shirts, trousers, denims, jackets, suits and accessories like ties, cufflinks, handkerchiefs, socks and innerwear. One recent inclusion is T-sport and T-shirts for the young at heart. The products are priced between Rs 795 and Rs 1,095. Besides its flagship brand Turtle, the company has also rolled out a mass market portfolio under the brand London Bridge. The brand epitomizes the spirit of the turtle, slow and steady.
