Turtle will unveil a footwear range soon

Kolkata-based men’s apparel and accessories maker Turtle plans to unveil a range of footwear. The company would

initially roll out the collection in 50-60 per cent of its stores spread across India.

The Kolkata-headquartered company, which currently owns Turtle (premium men’s wear) and London Bridge (mass market) brands will focus on fashion shoes. Though the footwear range will be sold through Turtle’s exclusive stores now, the company may consider selling these products at shop-in-shops and departmental stores at a later stage.

On retail expansion front, the company has plans to open 30 more stores in fiscal 2013-14 with an average of two store openings per month. Turtle along with another label under the fold, London Bridge is present in over 70 EBOs, 1,400 MBOs and 140 LFS such as Cental, Pantaloons, Shoppers Stop and Reliance Trends. Currently, the company is strengthening its presence in the west and south markets keeping focus on Tier II and Tier III cities, where it would open around 100 EBOs in the next three years.
