Designer Malini Ramani is set to promote the use

of safe-drinking water in remote villages across India by making an exclusive range of T-shirts in association with footwear and apparel brand Woodland and Unicef. Part of the amount earned through the sale of T-shirts will go towards promoting fresh drinking water in villages.

Ramani’s special range of T-shirts will be unveiled in March 2013. Unicef provides clean drinking water to many villages and backward places, where people are not able to get the facility. Woodland has tied up with the organisation through its initiative called Pro Planet, and as part of which Ramani will design the line of T-shirts in association with Unicef.

Ramani, who has previously designed an exclusive range for footwear brand Bata, made the announcement on the sidelines of a panel discussion arranged by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FICCI) Ladies Organisation (FLO). The session saw eminent women designers like Ritu Beri, Rina Dhaka, Kavita Bhartiya and make-up stylist Ambika Pillai and choreographer Aparna Bahl discussing their views on the business of fashion.
