Uniqlo same store sales fall 5.5 percent

Uniqlo’s January 2013 same-store sales decreased by
5.5 percent year on year while sales at own stores decreased by 3.4 percent. Total sales including online sales decreased by 2.8 percent.Same-store sales fell year on year in January as the comparative impact of fewer shopping days on the weekend outweighed the favorable sales of Ultra Light Down, HEATTECH and other winter garments.Uniqlo is a brand of Fast Retailing, which designs, manufactures and sells clothing under six main brands: Comptoir des Cotonniers, g.u., Helmut Lang, Princesse tam.tam, Theory, and Uniqlo. As of January 2013 Uniqlo had 769 same stores and 830 own stores.
