Varun Sardana’s spring/summer 2011 collection is dipped in shades of pure white and black.

This season he has worked with a neutral palette mainly beige, white, ivory and black. The silhouette are all about defining and enhancing the curves of the body, with no sharp cuts. From deriving textures to interplay between transparency and opacity and between fluidity and rigidity, the collection also witnesses an extensive use of hand and couture-based skills to achieve the concepts behind the collection.

His label has a strong focus on using age-old couture techniques in new and innovative ways for a diffusion line, making it more accessible. The label seeks to marry the wealth of hand-skills from the east with fabrics and technology from the west to create a truly unique and new age brand.

Always passionate about exploring new dimensions and facets of fashion, the designer aimed at combining his fashion sense with shadow and visual installations by visual artists. This is Sardana’s first step in exploring how the premises of fashion can be expanded beyond the conventional audience and he plans to build and work on this more in the coming seasons. The designer looks for ideas among the boring and the mundane gives a new definition to them.

Sardana has been designing for the past three years with a presence in over 10 high-end designer stores all over India. He has hosted fashion-related shows on TV and has had two successful showings at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. His debut collection at the WLIFW spring/summer '08 was adjudged ‘The Best Debut Collection’ by the Fashion Design Council of India.
