Virender Uppal elected new AEPC chairman

Virender Uppal has been unanimously elected as Chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) for

the second time, by the executive committee for a term of two years. Prior to this, he was Chairman, AEPC, in 2002-03 and Senior Vice Chairman, Northern Region AEPC between 2000 and 2001.

He has been in the executive committee of the AEPC since 1988. Uppal was Chairman Finance & Budget Sub-Committee, AEPC during 1999. He was also the Chairman of the Project Implementation Committee, which headed various projects of the council including the current head office of AEPC-Apparel House under his guidance. He spearheaded the Garment Export Association its President in 1992-93.

Virender Uppal is the Chairman of Richa Global Export, a leading garment export house, dealing in both woven and knitted garments. The company exports to the US and EU and is also in the business of exports of leather garments and accessories.
